I couldn't handle having 4x6's up front, maybe on the dash, but in the doors?? Come on!! Before you know it, I was building a custom 3 way set to bring the music to my ears... Boy did it exceed my expectations of quality and volume level.

.: Amp Section
The amps I chose to use are only MTX from great experience in the past with a 2300x putting 153db on the dash of a reg cab Nissan p/u with one 15 firing thru a cutout bed. I then chose to stick with them, and their older Thunder series amps that are black with gold letters are much like PG, Soundstream, and older PPI amps, very clean and very strong.

.: Speaker Selection... This is a tough one..
After a lot of research, thought, research, and more thought, I finally and reluctantly decided on a 3 way setup, although I knew the outcome would rival any 2 way system and give my ears the listening pleasure they deserve, I also knew it would be quite a bit more technical to tune and set up. I chose a 3 way setup so that I could put a smaller mid in a kick panel and allow more leg/foot room while still producing great vocal imaging, and the door is a much better place for the majority of today's mid's that are usually optimized for IB applications.
The MB Quart 4" mids are from the older referenz line when that was the flagship 3way set, and are very accurate and detailed, while capable of very satisfying volume levels. The tweet, passive crossovers and 6.75" mids are from a Cadence cwm-6kit, though I knew I would toss the tweet very soon for something smoother like a 28mm silk dome by Morel or DLS, the aluminum cone mid is outstanding for midbass and all the components including my Kappa Perfect 12 are within +/-1db sensitivity of each other, comprising a very well matched setup that must be heard to be believed.

Have fun, maybe this site will be a huge revenue generator for me very soon. Hope so. lol.... Don't Laugh!
